£1,500 reward for safe return of stolen vintage tractor thumbnailThe Massey Ferguson 35 tractor that was stolen from the yard of McFadden (Civils) Ltd on the outskirts of Mountfield last week.

A REWARD of £1,500 is being offered for information leading to the safe return of a vintage tractor stolen from the yard of a civil engineering firm on the outskirts of Mountfield.
The Massey Ferguson 35, valued at around £3,000, was taken along with several powerwashers during a break-in at the yard of McFadden (Civils) Ltd, located at Killyclogher Road, Killins, at some time between Thursday evening last and Friday morning.
The 1960s-era tractor belongs to a member of the McFadden family and has "great sentimental value", according to the firm's manager, Brendan Feeney. As a consequence, a reward was being offered for its return, he added.
Speaking to the Tyrone Constitution yesterday (Tuesday) morning, Mr Feeney said: "The tractor was purchased by Des McFadden, who is the father of our director, Shane McFadden, about 15 to 20 years ago and has great sentimental value. It was still very much a working tractor, and was being used for bits and pieces around the yard."
Mr Feeney said that the reward of £1,500 was being offered for any information which would directly lead to the safe recovery of the tractor.
Outlining the circumstances of the theft, the manager said that somebody had gained access to the yard by breaking the locks at some time between late on Thursday evening and early on Friday morning.
A powerwasher attached to the back of the tractor was also stolen, along with two standalone powerwashers that were being stored in a small outhouse. The combined value of these pieces of equipment is estimated at £1,000, Mr Feeney said.
The manager also admitted that the firm are now looking into increasing security measures by installing CCTV cameras in the yard.
Anyone with any information leading to the safe return of the tractor is asked to contact 07761 640334. Anonymity is guaranteed, Mr Feeney added.
