World sporting superstar drops in to do some shopping in Ballygawley! thumbnailBallygawley businessman, Lee Galloway, had the pleasure of doing business with one of the world's most famous sports stars, Conor McGregor, when he visited his premises on Thursday last.

THURSDAY, May 25, 2017, is a day the Galloway family of Ballygawley will never forget.

For it's not every day one of the world's most famous athletes in Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC's) Conor McGregor comes through the door.

The world phenomenon in the mixed martial arts field called into Lee Galloway's All Spares business on the Martray Road on Thursday to purchase a couple of Sea-doo speed boats.

The Dublin man had a number of photographs taken and it wasn't long before he was sharing them with his 13 million followers on Instagram.

During his time there, McGregor also happily chatted to Mr Galloway's children and signed t-shirts.

Mr Galloway described the superstar as a "very down to earth guy".

"He was an absolute gentleman. The guys he was travelling with were also very nice people. I was just very impressed by them all. He was very good with the children, he had a lot of time for them. He was an absolute gentleman.

"Obviously, as a big fan of Conor's, it was a bit of a dream come true. It's not every day a man of that stature comes through the door. It was a very surreal experience and something I'll never forget.

"We started off as a small family business. To have someone like Conor McGregor come through the door, it's something very special, and it's great for the local community too."

McGregor is undoubtedly one of the world's biggest stars in sport. In November, the Dubliner became the first person in UFC history to hold two world title belts at the same time after he beat Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden, New York.

There are strong indications he will come up against Floyd Mayweather Jr in a blockbuster boxing match in the near future.
