Starbreakers athletes selected for Dublin Games

THE Starbreakers Special Olympics Club were celebrating this week as two of their athletes have been selected to represent Ulster at the Special Olympics National Summer Games in Dublin next June.
Maeve Grimes, from Beragh, and Sean Donaghy, from Carrickmore, will carry the hopes of the local club in the All Ireland competition which begins on June 14, 2018.
Club coach, Paul Sweeney, said: "This is a great honour for these athletes and something they have worked hard for. They deserve their place and will make their families and the club very proud. We wish them the best of luck."
Sean will be competing in 50m run and Men's Javelin, while Maeve will be in 25m Run and Ladies 300grm Mini Javelin.
"The athletes will have an intense training programme ahead as well as their local sessions but I'm sure they will be looking forward to the challenge."
The Starbreakers are currently on summer break now and will resume again in September.
