Clarke returns as Fivemiletown manager. thumbnailRaymond Clarke has returned to Fivemiletown United as first team manager.

RAYMOND Clarke has returned to Fivemiletown United as first team manager, following Scott Robinson's recent decision to stand down from the role.

Clarke previously managed Town in the 1990's, and has more recently had stints at Ardstraw, Enniskillen Rangers and Loughgall U18s.

He was unable to make an immediate impact however as Town were defeated 4-0 by Tandragee Rovers in the Premier Cup semi-final at Madden Park on Saturday afternoon, with Matthew Irwin, Simon McClean and Jonny Black (two) supplying the goals for the hosts.

In a statement, the club announced that Clarke would assume the manager's job "until the end of the season at least."

"Raymond returns to the club hot-seat after nearly two decades since he last held the reins. He brings a wealth of experience to the job and his appointment has been well received within the club.

"The committee would also like to thank Scott for all his efforts over the last year and wish him all the best in the future."

Fivemiltown are currently 11th in the Intermediate A league, and host Windmill Stars at the Valley Ground this weekend.
