Mountjoy United moved into the last four of the Mulhern Cup with a straightforward 3-0 win over Glebe United at Lisnagirr Road.

They made the perfect start within moments of the kick-off when Stephen Montgomery expertly curled in a 25 yard free kick, and that lead was doubled seven minutes later when Barry Doherty deflected a Mark Colhoun effort in for 2-0.

Glebe gamely endeavoured to get back into the game thereafter, with Eamon McGrath and Adam McElwee going close, but the game was sewn up in the 64th minute when Mountjoy's Stuart Graham won a penalty, which Lee Frazer confidently fired home.

It was almost four with Frazer again getting on the end of a cross to head against the cross-bar.

Strule United A Lisbellaw United A The third round meeting between Strule United and Lisbellaw United at Donnelly's Holm was marred by the horrific injury suffered by visitors' player-manager captain Kyle McCleery.

The match was abandoned by referee Jason Gillespie on 32 minutes due to the serious leg-break incident, with the score 1-1.

An ambulance promptly arrived, and McCleery was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery. Both teams were in full agreement to the referee's decision to call a halt to the game

'Law had taken the lead on 20 minutes through Paul McGrath, who slotted past Thomas Antczak after being played through by Ryan O'Keefe, but six minutes later recently crowned DIvision Two champions Strule pulled level with Kyle McCrory hitting the net before the abandonment.
