Overseas visitors welcomed to ‘blooming’ marvellous Daffodil and Spring Flower Show

Thursday, 10 May 2018

The annual Daffodil and Spring Flower Show organised by the Omagh Gardening Society started off the May Bank Holiday weekend in style - outdoors the sun was shining, whilst indoors, in St Columba's Hall, the bright and colourful exhibits created a vibrant scene.
Society secretary, Laine Turner, was delighted with the continuing success of the show and was particularly pleased to welcome guests from Holland, Chile and Singapore, as well as visitors from south of the border and around the province.
The show secretary, Kate Adams, welcomed guest-of-honour 99-year-old Bob Lingwood to the show.
Bob is a keen and long-standing member of the society and his enthusiasm for gardening has not diminished, as he approaches his 100th birthday. Bob was delighted to present the prizes to the deserving winners.
In his remarks he congratulated all who exhibited at the show and for making it such a colourful and spectacular event, also acknowledging the time and effort invested in producing such a splendid display of Spring flowers with the floral art exhibits adding to the splendour of the show.
