Winter League off to bright start with over 120 entries

SESKINORE Harriers Winter League got off to a great start on Saturday with over 120 entries.
The most popular classes of the day involved the 148cm ponies; the 148 open competition provided a very exciting jump-off when 13 competitors made it through to the speed round with East Donegal Pony Club member, Clodagh Barry, on Mervyn, claiming the top spot.
The 138 open was also hotly contested; Caitilin Taggart riding Prince recorded the fastest time of the day and picked up the first place rosette. In the 128 open Ella Duncan on Dimples Dilemma (first place) and Patrick McEvoy on Commanches First (second place) both had super speed rounds with only 0.1 seconds separating their times. The last class of the day, the horse open, was won by Maurice Bingham riding Bella.
The league continues next week at the RDA Centre, Omagh, at 9.30am and there will be qualifiers for the junior and senior Dengie competitions. For information contact Fiona (07821084177) or Cariad (07771886288).
