STRULE Valley Riding Club in Omagh held their 20th Annual Combined Training Competition at the RDA last weekend. 

The competition organisers thanked all who competed and congratulated them on their performances.

“Thanks to Emma Hobson for judging, Alison Donnell scribe, Pearl Donnell entries and refreshments along with Sharon Gilchrist, Raymond Caldwell and Alan Gilchrist course building and anyone else who helped build and put the jumps away afterwards. 

“Thanks to the RDA for setting up the dressage arena and for the use of their show jumps.

“Special thanks to the very generous sponsors - Horse First, Botanica International Ltd, Kyle Hayes from Aldertree Equine & Bluegrass Horse Feeds."

The winner of class 1 was Samantha O'Connor with Ibsen. Class 2 winner was Mairead McGartland with Loughside Puzzle. Class 3 was Freya Kennedy with Angel. Class 4 was Jenna Coote with Rossi. Class 5 was Yvonne Chisholm with Rozel Iceman of Mullentine. Class 6 winner was Katie Clarke with Jolene.

The winner of the RJ Monteith Perpetual Cup for being the highest placed SVRC member was Katie Clarke.

 

Results

Class 1: Intro B 2009 Dressage only, 1st prize very kindly sponsored by Kyle Hayes Aldertree Equine. 2nd and 3rd prizes very kindly sponsored by Bluegrass Horse Feeds: 1st Ibsen and Samantha O'Connor 66.08; 2nd Toby and Barbara Lunny 63.04; 3rd Indi and Alan Gilchrist 61.08; 4th My Blue Pearl and Sonya Boyd 60.65; 5th Poppy and Heather Black 59.13; 6th Molly and Lyndsay Martin 58.47; Junior 1st Spot and Cara Mae O'Connor 65.21

Annual Easter Charity Pleasure Ride

Another date for the diary is the Annual Easter Charity Pleasure Ride at Baronscourt, by kind permission of the Duke and Duchess of Abercorn on Easter Monday, April 17, at 11am.  Entry is 5 per pony/horse and money will to go Grovehill Animal Trust.  Parking will be at the Old Garden Centre.
