STEPHEN Lowry grabbed Linfield's late winner as they came from a goal down to secure all three points from their visit to Ferney Park on Saturday.

Linfield keeper Gareth Deane was forced into making a few early saves, and his mistake at the back almost saw Ryan Mayse open the scoring, but the Newtownstewart man hit the side netting.

Ryan Curran gave the Mallards the lead though after half-an-hour with a long range effort, but Aaron Burns levelled for David Healy's side early in the second half after connecting with an Andrew Waterworth cross.

Ballinamallard almost regained the lead when the Blues defence were caught napping, and a long Richard Brush clearance found McCartney one-on-one, but his lobbed shot came off the cross-bar

That was how it stayed until four minutes from time when Lowry earned the points for Linfield with an unstoppable right-foot volley into the top right corner.

Mallards' Johnny Lafferty was dismissed seconds after the final whistle.
