Mallards undone by late Ards goal thumbnailBallinamallard skipper, Shane McCabe, on the ball.

ARDS continued their recent good form with a superb 3-2 win over Ballinamallard United at Ferney Park on Friday night.

Ballinamallard United...2
Ards...3

After a drab opening 45 minutes that only registered one shot on target. the game sprung to life in the second period with Ards taking the lead on 48 minutes through Matthew Shevlin.

The Mallards, who had not lost to their opponents at home since the 2010 season, raised their game and were rewarded when Gary Armstrong blasted home a superb volley to make it 1-1 after 58 minutes.

Ards regained the lead again when Kyle Cherry headed in from a Carl McComb cross, but Ballinamallard responded immediately and seemed to be on their way to a point when Colm McLaughlin was on hand to snap up the rebound after Ryan Curran's shot crashed off the bar on 83 minutes.

However, Colin Nixon's side left with all three points after Michael Ruddy found the back of the United net with just a minute of normal time remaining.
