Community stunned by farm death tragedy

A rural community has been stunned and plunged into mourning and his family circle ‘deeply rocked’, following the sudden death of a 25-year-old man on a Beragh farm on Saturday.

Harry Gibson, Donaghanie Road, passed away in what local Presbyterian minister, Rev Norman Smyth, told the Tyrone Constitution was a “tragic accident confirmed by a post-mortem examination”.

The popular and affable young man, a member of Seskinore Young Farmers’ Club, was the son of Mervyn Gibson, a cattle auctioneer who is well-known in farming circles throughout the province. His mother, Susan, is the vice-principal of Omagh High School.
