THE new principal of St Theresa’s Primary School, Glebe, has said he wants his pupils to have the ‘best days of their life’ at school.
Gortin man, Gabriel Brogan, has taken over the head role at the rural school, just outside Strabane, and replaces outgoing principal, Mary Gillespie, who retired at the end of the school year, following a career spanning four decades.
Married to Roisin and now living in Pomeroy, he is no stranger to St Theresa’s having previously taught there for a brief period over 10 years ago, so when the opportunity arose to put his name forward for the position he ‘jumped at the chance’.
A father-of-three to two girls, Mona and Ceoladh, and son, Enda, Mr Brogan’s teaching career spans some 15 years. A former pupil of St Patrick’s Primary School, Gortin, and Omagh Christian Brothers, he undertook his teaching degree at St Mary’s University College, Belfast and graduated in 2003.
He previously taught in Christ the King Primary School, Omagh, and St Peter’s Primary School, Plumbridge.
