The arrival of Omagh’s new Greggs branch, which is set to officially open tomorrow (Thursday) and create some 14 jobs, has been given a warm welcome by local public representatives.

The popular bakery chain, which now has 16 stores in Northern Ireland, will open its doors for business at the Showgrounds Retail Park at Sedan Avenue and offer a vast selection of baked savouries and freshly ground-to-order coffee that can be enjoyed in a comfortable seating area or ‘on-the-go’

Greggs’ arrival marks the latest in a series of new enterprises for the Omagh area relatively recently, including the new ‘Omniplex’ theatre and restaurant, as well as plans being revealed to build a £600,000 bowling alley a few miles from the town. Just recently another expanding Omagh business, Boyd Bedding at Doogary Industrial Estate, got the Royal seal of approval when visited by Princess Anne and she heard how its products are exported worldwide.
