Omagh's iconic Courthouse clock is back ...and it's about time! Once a meeting point for generations who lived, worked and socialised in the area, its 'time' ran out back in 2013 when it stopped telling the right time...the tick had gone out of its tock!

Mechanical and electrical failures were blamed and it was pointed out by the body that own the building, the Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service, (NICTS), that as financial budgets were tight and the repairs were of a specialised nature, plans to fix it were on hold so for all intent and purposes, time had come to a standstill.

Locals had been complaining about this 'like clockwork'.

'You're winding me up', you might say - but it's true!

So what happens when a clock stops ticking, it hangs around and that's exactly what happened here. Yes, of course, many complained and representations were made to the relevant authorities – but nothing happened.
