THE annual Chest, Heart and Stroke (CHS) fundraiser was held on Saturday at Fintona Golf Club and was well supported by the members.
The competition was set up and sponsored by the Corry family in aid of this great charity, the CHS.
It was Brendan McAleer who came out in the lead with 43 points, a two point cushion from his nearest rival, William Moffitt.
The full results are: 1; Brendan McAleer 43 pts, Cat 1 (0-9); Adrian McGinn 36 pts, Cat 2 (10-19); Harold McMurray 39 pts, Cat 3 (20+); William Moffitt 41 pts, Best Gross; Peter McGinn 77, Seniors; Brian Maguire 35 pts C/B, First Nine; Chris McMenamin 21 pts C/B and Second Nine;Tiernan Kelly 23 pts.
"Many thanks again to the Corry family for sponsoring the competition," a club spokesperson said.
The presentation for the Garrity Painting Contracts competition took place on Friday evening.
It is with deep regret that the captain, council and members of Fintona golf club express their condolences to our fellow member Frankie McCarney on the recent death of his brother Martin.
The Noel Garrity Painting Contracts competition, the Mayfly Cup, was played on May 24 at Fintona Golf Club and attracted a full turnout of players.
Noel has been sponsoring for a long time now and his competition is always keenly contested.
"It was our hardworking hon secretary, Aiden McCrystal, who emerged as the winner with two strokes to spare over his nearest rivals," a club spokesperson said.
"It's been a while since Aiden won a competition but the stroke format suits him."

A week later, the club had the AC Golf sponsored Fintona Masters, a stroke competition, coupled with the PGA Tankard qualifying round.
It was Nathan Kelly who showed the opposition a clean pair of heels with a 62 nett, four strokes clear.
There were a few extra prizes because of the dual event.
"We are very grateful to Ashley for taking up the sponsorship of the Fintona Masters competition, which has been running a long time and has had a number of different sponsors," the spokesperson added
