SEVENTEEN Strule Dolphins' swimmers competed at the Ards Open Gala, held on Saturday, May 24, at the Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex.
In session one, they had two new swimmers making their debut on the competition scene, Matthew and Sadie, alongside two of their peers, Michael and Siofra.
All four of the junior swimmers swam brilliantly and with confidence, earning new personal bests (PBs) and having fun at the same time.
"A special shoutout goes out to Matthew, who on his debut gala managed to secure third place in the boys 25m Butterfly - a great achievement," a spokesperson said.
Session two and three saw 13 dolphins compete in the Level 3 meet, earning some great experience, new personal and season bests and showing great camaraderie and teamwork, cheering each other on poolside.
Another medal winner in this session, Oisin, secured third place in his 50m Butterfly.
The spokesperson added: "Strule Dolphins have well and truly taken the leap this season, representing the club at local and regional meets, proving that swimmers from Omagh and the wider area have what it takes to compete with the best on the island.
"The club would like to thank the parents for their continued support and the coaching team for their continued dedication to the success of our local swimmers."
