THE captain of Aughnacloy Golf Club, Graeme Parr, hosted his Captain's Weekend on Friday and Saturday, August 1 and 2, having played his Juvenile Competition the previous Tuesday.
With the recent mixed weather, it was delightful to get a warm and dry day.
Captain Graeme was ably supported by his wife, Lynette and Past Captains, Noel O'Sullivan and Peter Johnston.
Graeme and Lynette were present to welcome the competitors from early morning offering water and fruit to each competitor.
Halfway through the round, hot dogs were the order of the day cooked to perfection and clearly enjoyed by all. This added to the success of the day.
Competition was keen throughout the day as there was a full array of prizes on the table to be won.
In the evening following the captain's meal, the prize presentation took place for the many prizes provided by the captain.

Following the prize presentation; captain Graeme congratulated the winners and thanked everyone who had worked to make his day a success.
He highlighted the greens staff for presenting the course in such an excellent condition and the catering staff for producing an excellent meal.
He also commended the members who had assisted in the Putting Green Project and carrying out voluntary work on the course.
He thanked the Ladies section for their support and congratulated them in achieving so many new members this year.
Lady captain, Fern Ross,replied and presented the captain's wife with a gift.
A social evening then followed bringing another memorable day to a close at Aughnacloy Golf Club.
The Club Classic for 2025 sponsored by Loane Motors of Aughnacloy is taking place over Friday, August 15 and 16. The format is a four-person team which can be all Male - all female or mixed.
Multiple entries are permitted over the two days.
The team entry is £100 per team. Time sheet in operation. Call 02885557050 for a tee time. Visitors very welcome.
