Police carry out speed checks following complaints from local residents

POLICE have carried out checks in the North Fermanagh area following direct complaints about speedsters from local residents.

Last Thursday, Erne North Neighbourhood Team were out conducting speed checks in Lack, Ederney, Irvinestown.

This was a direct result of complaints from local residents.

Over the course of the operation, a number of motorists had to be spoken to about speed. However, police have admited that most were travelling at a safe speed.

"The vast majority were law abiding and far too cheery at such an early hour!", a spokesperson said.
