THE countdown is on for the Beragh 5 Mile Road Race and 5K walk/run, which returns on Saturday March 30.
Hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are expected to once again hit the roads around the Co Tyrone village for the annual event.
Starting at 11am from Beragh Red Knights' St Mary’s Park GAA grounds, the fully chip-timed race features two separate five-mile and 5K circuits.
Event co-ordinator Adrian Donnelly, said: “There’s a real buzz around the village this year and we’re very much looking forward to seeing the crowds return for our annual run.
“An immense community effort goes in to ensure the Beragh 5 a well-organised and well supported event.
“This year’s race takes place just over one week before the Omagh Half Marathon, and it’s an ideal opportunity for runners of all abilities to hit the road for a well organised chip-timed event.
“We have top class facilities here at our pavilion in St Mary’s Park and runners and walkers can be assured of a good spread of food and refreshments afterwards.
“We are once again grateful to our many sponsors and volunteers who make this event possible.”
The nominated charity for the 2024 run is once again the Beragh and Sixmilecross Community First Responders group.
The entry fee for the five mile run is £12 and £8 for the 5K, which includes chip-timing.
Five-mile runners will also receive a limited edition T-shirt, with head buffs for 5K participants.
Registration is now open, and entrants are encouraged to pre-register via in.njuko.com/beragh-5 as early as possible.
