OMAGH is set to benefit from a transformative £3 million redevelopment project that will boost the local economy and create 60 new jobs, bringing fresh opportunities to the community.
One of the town’s longest-established businesses, TC Autos, is embarking on a significant expansion that will see its Killyclogher Road site evolve into a modern retail and service hub.
Established in 1971, the national award-winning TC Autos is a main Renault, Dacia and Kia dealership in Omagh, Northern Ireland. Currently at TCs, you'll find the full range of new Renault / Kia / Dacia cars, LCVs, parts and aftersales service you've come to expect from TC.
This exciting venture will introduce a state-of-the-art petrol filling station, a contemporary supermarket, and additional retail spaces, meeting the increasing needs of Omagh’s growing population.
The project, which has now been approved by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, will not only strengthen TC Autos’ business but also enhance convenience for local residents and commuters alike.
Austin Maguire, director of TC Autos, expressed his enthusiasm for the redevelopment, stating: “This development will bring new opportunities, create local jobs, and strengthen the economy while complementing our car business,” he said.“This development will bring new opportunities, create local jobs, and strengthen the economy while complementing our car business,” he said.
Designed with the future in mind, the site will feature a deli counter, electric vehicle charging points, and 58 additional parking spaces. With the Killyclogher area experiencing significant growth and an increasing demand for retail services, the new supermarket will provide essential amenities to residents in the vicinity, which now numbers approximately 12,500 people.
The project is expected to generate an impressive annual turnover of £3 million, reinforcing Omagh’s economic resilience. Local business leaders have welcomed the development as a major win for the town. John Edgar, chairperson of Omagh Chamber of Commerce, praised TC Autos for its commitment to innovation and community support.
“TC Autos is a long-standing business locally and I’m sure that the customer service which has been the hallmark of their work will follow suit into this new evolution being brought about by this development.
“A new petrol filling station and forecourt in this location will prove to be a real convenience for the people at that end of the town. Hopefully, the vision for this development will be realised sooner rather than later and it is good to see TC Autos deciding to evolve the business and offer something else which sees them clearly identify what is required,” he said.
To ensure smooth integration with the town’s infrastructure, the approval process includes provisions for road improvements on Knocknamoe Road. These enhancements will further support Omagh’s ongoing growth and ensure the development’s long-term success.
With construction set to commence once all conditions are met, residents can look forward to a revitalised Killyclogher Road that brings not only convenience but also a vibrant new economic hub to Omagh. This is truly great news for the town, marking a new era of progress and prosperity for the local community.
