Young sisters share Easter joy with their favourite postie!

EVERY Monday in Trillick, excitement builds at the home of Granny and Granda Stafford, not just because the post is on its way, but because two little girls from Newtownstewart have made it a weekly tradition to wait eagerly at the window for their favourite visitor in red.

Lucy Robinson, aged four and a half, and her younger sister Emily, three, have developed a special bond with Zoe Armstrong, the local postwoman who delivers to their grandparents’ home. The girls, who visit from Newtownstewart every week, are always full of energy and excitement as they wait for the familiar red Royal Mail van to appear at the end of the drive.

Over the Easter period, the girls decided to show their appreciation in the most heartfelt way. Having been taught that “sharing is caring” and that “even small acts of kindness can bring a lot of happiness,” Lucy and Emily set about making handmade Easter cards especially for Zoe.

Each card was lovingly decorated and included their ages, Lucy writing '4' and Emily writing '3' inside their creations. Alongside the cards, they also prepared a little Easter treat to surprise her.

“They’ve been taught that sharing is caring, and they really took that to heart,” said a family member. “They wanted to do something special for Zoe because she’s always so kind and friendly.”

Zoe, who has been delivering to the Stafford home for quite some time, was visibly touched by the sweet gesture.

“When Zoe pulled up in the van and they handed her the gifts, her face absolutely lit up. It was such a lovely moment, and the girls were thrilled to see how happy they had made her," added the family member.

Lucy, who will be attending Gortin Primary School in the near future, has taken these lessons to heart and is already putting them into practice in the sweetest ways.

The girls’ kindness doesn’t stop there. On one visit, they even invited Zoe inside to play in their toy coffee shop, where they "served" her a freshly brewed imaginary coffee. Zoe, always happy to take a moment to chat, was delighted by the café experience.

The Robinson family say they’re proud to see their girls living by simple, heartfelt mottos like “Sharing is caring” and “Be kind, because even small acts can bring big happiness.”

And in Trillick, two little sisters and a cheerful postwoman are proving just that.
