FERMANAGH and Omagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP), a partnership between Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, statutory providers and the community, has completed a trailer marking campaign across the district during Rural Crime Week 2025.

Events were hosted at Omagh Mart, Enniskillen Ulster Farmers Mart and the Ecclesville Centre, Fintona, where local police officers provided free trailer and machinery marking and shared rural crime prevention advice.

In total, over 70 items of trailers and machinery were security marked during the week, helping to protect valuable equipment and deter theft across the district.

The initiative was delivered by Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP in partnership with The Police Service of Northern Ireland, Rural Support NI, Tyrone Farming Society, Ecclesville Centre, Fintona and Enniskillen Ulster Farmers Mart.

Community engagement extended beyond trailer marking; local Crime Prevention Officers, alongside the PCSP and Rural Support, were also present to offer guidance on crime prevention, firearm certificate queries, promote local Neighbourhood Watch schemes, and signpost support services available to farming families.

Speaking at the conclusion of the programme, PCSP chairperson, councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said they were delighted with the strong turnout for these trailer marking sessions.

“With over 70 items marked during the week, we know this initiative has had a real impact in protecting property and preventing crime across the district," he said.

"Rural crime continues to affect farming families and communities, but by working together with our partner agencies, we can make a real difference.

"We’d like to thank everyone who came along, and our partners agencies who supported us in making these events such a huge success during Rural Crime Week 2025.”

The PCSP encourages all rural residents to consider further steps to protect their property and remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activity to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or at police online at www.psni.police.uk/report.
