IT was high spirits and even higher drops last Sunday, October 12, as the fearless staff from Christ the King Primary School in Omagh took a literal leap of faith - abseiling their way down the Europa Hotel in Belfast in memory of their much-loved caretaker, Paul Corrigan.
Scaling down walls may not be in the average school job description, but for Irene, Roisin (principal), Noelle, Angela, Kellie, and Maeve, it was all in a day’s work and tumbleday!
With a sky-high sense of courage and community, the team showed that when it comes to honouring Paul, they’re always on the up and up.
The brave bunch were cheered on by a huge crowd of colleagues, friends, and members of the Corrigan family - a groundbreaking support team who made sure nobody was left hanging!
To date, the daring descent has helped raise a staggering total of just over £7,600 -proving that the only thing falling that day was fear, not generosity.
But the adventure isn’t over yet! The final fundraising event takes place this Saturday, when supporters will take a hike (literally!) up Mullaghcarn. The walk kicks off from the top car park at 9.30am sharp - so lace up those boots and get ready to climb new heights for a wonderful cause.
Together, the Christ the King community and the Corrigan family have truly shown that love, laughter, and a little altitude can go a long way.
After all - Paul might have kept their feet on the ground, but this team is proving his spirit still helps them reach for the sky.
