WOODVALE Construction Company Ltd, Omagh, is celebrating a milestone year, 45 years in business, marked by a hat-trick of Construction Employers Federation (CEF) Awards

Woodvale Construction was recognised at the 2025 CEF Awards in three categories:

l Education Project of the Year – Ardnashee School & College, Derry

Awarded for its outstanding design, attention to pupil needs, and the tangible positive impact on children, staff, and families.

l Social/Community Buildings Project of the Year – Omagh Digi-Hub

Celebrated for revitalising a neglected area, boosting employment and commercial opportunities, and creatively reusing existing structures to deliver a modern, sustainable facility.

l Social Value Project of the Year – Omagh Digi-Hub

Recognised for exceeding social value targets through collaboration with local social enterprises, charities, educational institutions, and in partnership with the NOW Group, creating ten new entrant employment opportunities and generating lasting benefits for the community.

Woodvale has consistently demonstrated a commitment to quality, collaboration, sustainability, and social value.

The Omagh Digi-Hub, delivered by Woodvale Construction as the main contractor, has completely revitalised a former 1970s health centre into a modern, flexible workspace providing 58 work units across two floors for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and start-ups. The project included partial demolition, refurbishment, a new steel-framed first floor, upgraded M&E systems, meeting and breakout areas, landscaped grounds, and additional car parking.

Site manager Eugene McMenamin led the construction on site, ensuring the project was completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. One of the biggest challenges was maintaining a fully operational pharmacy during construction, which required careful planning, phased work, and close coordination with all stakeholders. The result is a first-class facility that has already begun supporting the local economy and creating opportunities for new businesses.

Meanwhile, Woodvale’s Ardnashee School & College in Derry also received high praise at the CEF Awards. This innovative school was designed with children with special educational needs in mind, incorporating colour-coded navigation, sensory and therapy spaces, and accessible facilities for pupils and families.

Site manager Wesley Lindsay played a pivotal role in delivering the project, ensuring that every detail, from safety to finish, met the highest standards. The impact of the new school has been profound, with staff reporting improved pupil engagement and parents experiencing greater peace of mind.

Commenting on the awards and projects, Chairman Desmond Scott said: "We are particularly proud to be recognised for projects in our hometown of Omagh. These awards reflect not only the dedication of our teams but also the meaningful impact that thoughtful construction can have on communities, education, and local enterprise."

The success of these projects is a direct result of the dedication and expertise of Woodvale’s award-winning teams. Key personnel include site managers Wesley Lindsay and Eugene McMenamin, Ardnashee Contracts Manager, Darragh McGlone, Digi-Hub Contracts Manager, Paul Devine, and Digi-Hub Quantity Surveyor, Paul McGread. Their leadership and collaboration ensured that each project was delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard, supported by our skilled site teams who take pride in their craftsmanship and commitment to excellence. Together, they fostered strong relationships with the local community, clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners throughout every stage of delivery.

Woodvale Construction also acknowledges the critical role of design partners, subcontractors, and strategic partners such as the NOW Group, and art coordinator Pauline Harte whose collaboration was central to delivering strong social value outcomes.

The Omagh Digi-Hub and Ardnashee School & College exemplify how thoughtful, well-managed construction can transform spaces and lives. By focusing on quality, collaboration, and community impact, Woodvale Construction continues to make a real difference across Northern Ireland - creating spaces where people can learn, work, and thrive.

Woodvale Construction extends heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in these landmark projects and looks forward to continuing to deliver projects that combine excellence in construction with lasting benefits for local communities.
