"Founded in 1975, the Ulster Project began its mission to build cross-community connections among youth and has since become a driving force for change, understanding and reconciliation. It has empowered generations of participants to grow in confidence, step outside their comfort zones and emerge as leaders for peace.
"Over the past five decades, the Ulster Project has fostered lasting friendships and nurtured a generation of advocates for peace and reconciliation, helping to create a more compassionate and inclusive society through dialogue and shared experiences.

This celebration offers a unique opportunity to reflect, engage and reaffirm the importance of community-led reconciliation efforts.
"Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to promoting equality and good relations for everyone in the District. Initiatives like the Ulster Project play a crucial role in bringing this vision to life, empowering individuals to actively promote community development and champion peacebuilding.
"On behalf of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, and personally, I commend all those involved in the Ulster Project on 50 years of promoting understanding, respect and peace. My sincere thanks to the participants, host families and the dedicated volunteers, whose tireless work has sustained this remarkable initiative. Let us continue creating spaces where all voices are valued and every story matters."
