Fivemiletown Tractor Run sets new records!

THE streets of Fivemiletown came alive on Sunday, December 28 as the third Annual Festive Tractor and Vintage Car Run attracted record crowds and raised vital funds for local causes.

With over 160 participants taking part, a wide range of vintage, classic and modern vehicles, from scooters to tractors including Massey Fergusons, New Hollands and John Deeres, made their way along the route, as hundreds of spectators lined the streets to enjoy the festive spectacle.

Reflecting on the growing success of the event, chairperson of St Mary’s PTFA, Sinead McGovern, said: “We were absolutely delighted with the turnout this year. This event has gone from strength to strength and has truly become an annual fixture in people’s festive calendars. The inclusion of vintage cars for the first time added a special highlight to this year's event. Even the weather was kind to us, and the biggest turnout yet of people and their incredible vehicles made for an amazing parade. Combined with the brilliant entertainment on the day, it made for a fantastic family-friendly event.

“As well as being a great occasion for the whole community, we are deeply indebted to the many local businesses who so generously sponsored the event, donated amazing auction and raffle prizes, those who bought tickets and bid on the lots, and of course the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the day such a success. A word of thanks must also go to our friends in Clogher Valley Rugby Club for their warm welcome and hosting us on the day. We are still receiving donations and, as well as supporting our school, we also look forward to being able to make contributions to both Air Ambulance NI and Fermanagh Women’s Aid, supporting their vital work across our community. We really were overwhelmed by the generosity of local people and delighted to have had another incredibly successful day.”

The organisers would like to thank everyone who took part, attended, or supported the event in any way, helping to make this year’s Festive Tractor and Vintage Car Run the biggest and most successful yet. With plans already underway for next year, St Mary’s PTFA hopes the event will continue to grow, bringing people together while raising much-needed funds for local charities and causes close to everyone’s hearts.
