THE Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Ruairí McHugh, recently hosted a warm and celebratory reception for members of the Castlederg MS Society at the Guildhall in Londonderry.
The event brought together society members, supporters and civic representatives in recognition of the invaluable work the group carries out in supporting people living with Multiple Sclerosis across the district. The reception provided an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication, compassion and sense of community fostered by the Castlederg MS Society.
Speaking at the event, Mayor McHugh said it was a privilege to welcome the group to the Guildhall. He praised the society for the vital role it plays in offering support, friendship and encouragement to individuals and families affected by MS.
“The work this group carries out in providing support, friendship and a strong sense of community to those living with Multiple Sclerosis is truly invaluable,” he said. “Hosting this reception is a small gesture of appreciation for their dedication and the positive difference they make within our district.”
The reception highlighted the strong partnership between the council and local community groups, and celebrated the ongoing commitment of the Castlederg MS Society to improving quality of life and wellbeing for its members.
