Newtown's Daithi delivers

TWO Castles boxer Daithi McNamee qualified for the Irish National Boy 3 Championship final on Saturday morning.

The Newtownstewart club man weighed in at 29kg against Leinster champion, Gary McDonagh, from Kilcullen Club.

Daithi had a slow start, narrowly losing the first round, but showed great personality and strength of character to box well in the second stanza and level things up.

With all to play for, young McNamee was sensational in the decider, with a really class performance.

The judges awarded the contest to the Gallon lad via a deserving unanimous decision .
