Annual Beragh 5 returns this weekend

ANTICIPATION is building in Beragh for the return of the annual road race this weekend.

Hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are expected to take part in the popular community event on Saturday morning.

The Beragh 5 Mile Road Race and 5k walk/run will start at 11am from St Mary’s Park GAA grounds in the village, where participants will have access to changing facilities and post-event refreshments.

The fully chip-timed race as always features two separate five-mile and 5k circuits.

The entry fee for the five mile run is £12 and £8 for the 5k, which includes chip-timing. The first 200 entrants in the five-mile race will receive a limited edition T-shirt, with head buffs for the first 250 registered in the 5k.

Entrants are encouraged to register online via bit.ly/Beragh5.

The nominated charity for the 2023 run is the Beragh and Sixmilecross Community First Responders.

Steel fabrication specialist Capital Reinforcing and Tallon’s Pharmacy, Sixmilecross, are this year’s headline sponsors.
