THE annual official Tyrone Individual Darts Championship 2024 took place on Saturday, Jnauary 13, played on eight dart boards in Q-Sports Academy Club, Fintona, with the event played in group round robin format which was limited to 32 players.
Once again congratulations to World PDC player Mickey Mansell, Clonoe, who claimed his sixth Tyrone individual championship title defeating Justin Mc Guigan, Fintona, in the 2024 final with both players reaching the final for the second year running.
Mickey's 2024 victory is the most successful winner of this popular event which is only open to Tyrone-based players and offers a field of quality players year in and year out.
Mickey once again produced another brilliant and solid performance to be crowned champion but the six times champion was pushed all the way in the semi-final stage by another superb player, Jason Elliott, but on this occasion, it was Mickey who held his nerve winning the deciding game for 6-5 victory.
On route to victory Mickey defeated the following top players from last-16 onwards playing fantastic darts starting off with a 5-1 victory over Paul Mein (Augher) in the last-16 and former PDC member Felix McBrearty (Dromore, 1/4-finals 5-1), Jason Elliott (Augher, semi-finals 6-5) and Justin McGuigan (Fintona, final 7-2) to be crowned Tyrone Individual Darts Champion 2024.
