IN a standout performance at this year’s Roger Albert Clark Rally, Omagh Motor Club members, Paul Barrett and Gordon Noble, claimed second place overall, powering their Ford Escort RS 1800 Mk II to a podium finish in the gruelling five-day event.
The 2025 edition of the rally - one of the UK’s biggest historic motorsport events - saw competitors tackle more than 300 miles of challenging gravel stages across Wales, northern England, and Scotland.
Despite treacherous conditions, including snow and slush through forest tracks, Barrett and Noble maintained a consistent pace throughout.
From the early days of the rally, the pair kept within reach of leader Osian Pryce and co-driver Dale Furniss. After Day 2, they were just 29 seconds behind the frontrunners.
By the penultimate leg, the gap had widened to around 1 minute 52 seconds, and they held that margin to the finish.
Barrett and Noble’s final time placed them firmly in the runner-up spot in the H8 historic category, underlining their tactical drive, mechanical sympathy, and skill under pressure.
Their campaign evoked memories of previous strong performances: as noted by rally organisers, the duo “are replicating their performance of four years ago,” proving once again their pedigree in this legendary event.
